Two Teens Killed in Winston-Salem Shooting After Planned Fight Turns Deadly
A tragic shooting in Winston-Salem has left two teenagers dead and several others injured after a planned fight escalated into gunfire, according to reports from The Washington Post.
Authorities confirmed that 16-year-old Daniel Jimenez Millian and 17-year-old Erubey Romero Medina were pronounced dead at the scene following the incident, which occurred at a local park near a middle school.
Police say the violence began as a prearranged altercation between youths at Leinbach Park before escalating into a shooting involving multiple individuals. At least five other victims, ranging in age from 14 to 19, were injured, with conditions varying from minor to critical.
Law enforcement responded shortly before 10 a.m., finding multiple people suffering from gunshot wounds. Officials noted that some of those injured may have also been involved in the confrontation, and no suspects have been taken into custody as investigations continue.
Nearby schools, including Jefferson Middle School, were placed on a temporary secure status as a precaution, though classes continued as normal.
